Not since the advent of paisley, has a tie led to so much criticism. As far as most Springbok fans are concerned, the 16-all draw against Los Pumas last weekend might as well have been a loss. Armchair and World Cup-Winning coaches alike are lining up like Mexican kids at a Pinata party to take […]
Week 3 came and went with a barrage of unexpected happenings, twists and turns – long story short, we expect more of the same for week 4! With the Springboks about to venture off on the overseas leg of The Championship, some of the local teams have lost and some have gained and with the […]
New Zealand 22 – 0 Australia The Australians, went to New Zealand and came home with nothing, not even a consolation penalty. Such was the Kiwi’s dominance that they were able to incessantly knock the ball on and still win by 22 points. The Aussies were kept scoreless for the first time against the All Blacks […]
Argentina 16 – 16 South Africa The Boks were literally broken down by a Los Pumas side spurred on by a fantastic set of fans (see picture insert) in Mendoza. With so many Argentinian players plying their trade in France the Boks found themselves undone by the grinding forward-dominated Northern Hemisphere style.
Well, at least you can’t say that we’re inconsistent! For the 2nd weekend in a row we’ve managed to call 2 out of 3 matches incorrectly, although, one of those matches was decided by an 85th minute penalty which is probably still being debated this morning and will probably still be debated for the remainder […]
The Springboks travel to South America to take on Argentina in Mendoza (sounds like a South African Kwaito singer). The Argentinians didn’t play that badly last week but just came up against a very powerful side. They might be home but life probably won’t get easier for Los Pumas (until they play Australia).
Last weekend was a historic moment here at FRS for all the wrong reasons – calling 2 out of 3 Currie Cup matches incorrectly has yielded our worst prediction result ever! But we have to admit, competition is tighter than some of the Olympic volleyball ladies and it’s not going to get any easier! Here’s […]
Last week was not a good one for Rugby Championship teams that start with the letter A. The Aussies suffered a home defeat to the Kiwis. Then Argentina, making their Championship debut were given a right warm welcome by a solid Bok back-hand. This weekend the same teams play each other but will swap […]
So, to be honest – rugby championship has snuck up on us at a rather unfortunate time here at FRS! Nick is busy writing tests (or something), Dan is busy launching rockets and Shaun is busy writing this article at 01:30 am on a Friday – in the words of Gareth Cliff, “It’s the weeeeeeeeeekeeeeennnnnnddddd […]
