Fantasy Rugby Dream Team – Round 3

Author: Nick | Filed under: Dream Team

Fantasy Rugby Scout brings you our new weekly feature, the Fantasy Rugby Dream Team.  Here we look at the best possible team for the previous Round. The dream team must fall under the constraints of the game:

- Value no more that 200 million
- No more than 3 players from each team

This weeks dream team sees Blues rookie sensation Frank Halai named as captain; and Morne Steyn as Kicker. The Team Cost is a bargain 173 million and would’ve scored a massive 435 points.

Here’s the team:

We will be publishing this feature every Monday and look forward to discussions on player performances, team selection and how fantasy points compare to the actual performances out there on the field.

  2. Great new feature, only 2 of my players made the dream team.

  3. Thanks Clint, it’s interesting because a guy like Reinach who only scored 4 on the bench makes the dream team because even though Weepu and McKibbin scored higher, Steyn was the top kicker and there were 3 other Blues/Tahs that made the team ahead of them.

  5. I find it interesting that in your dream team:

    • 19 players had a home games,
    • 3 away (but on a losing team)
    • 17 from a winning team and 5 from a losing tem.

I always back the away teams but I guess at the end of the day it is tries that really count.

  6. There’s always the tempatation to back the away teams for the extra points but more often than not it can end up costing you.
