Fantasy Rugby Scout Pre-Season Picks #Blues

The new and expanded edition of the Super Rugby promises more games, more teams and more countries. For Fantasy managers this also means more players to choose from. If you feel bombarded by the plethora of new options fear not! We're coming to the rescue with our top picks from each team. Our man Alex Tarr is playing judge, executioner and jury awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze to the top Fantasy Picks in each team. Alex will also be issuing wildcards when he feels like it!

We'll start with Blues who were awful last season finishing down in 14th place.

George Moala – This busting utility back has a knack for scoring big in FOX fantasy and is set for a massive season. Scored eight tries in 2014 playing mostly at outside back. Moala is likely to slot into the midfield but is listed as an outside back in UDT where there could be better options. Summary: FOX Fantasy - Yes. UDT Fantasy - NO.

Jerome Kaino*Suspended temporarily for punching Chiefs prop Pauliasi Manu in the FACE! Once back will form the cornerstone for an ambitious Blues team. Being captain will get plenty of game time if he can keep his boxing ambitions off the field.

Rene Ranger – The prodigal son is yet to establish a role in his old team, but veterans of Fantasy Rugby will know his scoring potential. Ranger played most of career at wing but is now at centre. With 25 Super Rugby tries Ranger offers a good scoring option in midfield.

Tevita Li – Junior All Black star with a talent for running both off and on the field. Just a matter of time before he breaks out... a bottle of Buck and starts driving.
