Fantasy Rugby Scout Pre-Season Picks #Hurricanes

The Hurricanes were the team to beat last season. Especially if you were a Highlander. Deadly on attack, strong in the forwards. They are the team to beat again even without the legendary Conrad Smith, what a great player. Plenty of gold but we can only pick four.

Julian Savea – King of the broken tackle. Occasionally goes AWOL but still managed to score seven tries so when he shows up again you’d better be on board. Averages 42.57 points per games in Fox Fantasy. This might be the season when we figure out whether Nadolo or Savea is the best wing in the world.

Nehe Milner-Skudder – The find of 2015 and with no sign of slowing down. Will he pull an Andre Taylor on us? If so we're hedging our bets on Dane Coles at hooker who averaged slightly more points then NMS in Fox Fantasy last season.

Beauden Barrett – This is the problem, Barrett would have been Gold on just about any other team. Will more than make up for his missed kicks with line breaks, assists and metres gained.

Honourable mention - We haven't forgotten TJ Perenara who scores big even in a game where scrumhalves battle (Joost van der Westhuizen would have cleaned up). Scored 11 tries and nine assists last year but surely won't repeat the same heroics to justify his $309k price tag.

Vince Aso – Set to replace Conrad Smith, this young talent has skills to pay the bills. The price tag is $112K so he's a good third midfield option if you have space for another Hurricane.
