Fantasy Rugby Scout Pre-Season Picks #Rebels

The Rebels had their best season finishing tenth last year. Statistics show they won just nine out of their first 43 Super Rugby games for a dismal 21% win record. However they won 14 of their last 37 for a more respectable 38% win record. Last year they won 44% of their games. The Rebellion hasn't quite happened yet but the kids are starting to worry the elders.

Let's look at the biggest pot-stirrers.

Luke Jones – Consistently tops the lock stocks, and knows his way around a try line. Valuable asset in both FOX and UDT Fantasy rugby but even more so in Fox where winning means nothing.

Sean McMahon – We'll pat ourselves on the back for punting McMahon before last season. He broke out in 2015 averaging a healthy 32.47 point per game in Fox Fantasy and still has a lot of room to grow. All round quality backrower.

Mike Harris – They don’t call him “Radar” for nothing. If it’s a kicker you want, it’s a kicker you’ll get. Just remember though – you have to get the tries first before he can convert them. There's better options in Fox at centre but provides a good third or fourth kicking option in UDT or alternatively allows you to play an attacking flyhalf like Matt Toomua who doesn't usually kick poles.

Jonah Placid – Has dipped his toes into the Super Rugby pool previously, but with limited opportunity. Highly rated youngster likely to get a start this year.
